Chimney Gulch / Lookout Mountain Trail

I went on my first heavy hike of the season! With Kolin being at work, Max & I were feelin’ up to the task of a 9 mile hike (there & back), 2,000 elevation gain of Lookout Mountain. It was perfect weather & hardly anyone on the  trail. The hike up was filled with stopping at every creek crossing for Max to take a dip, having butterflies land on my arm, seeing my first ginormous BULL SNAKE, and realizing how out of shape I still am. Ah, but was it worth it. The satisfaction of popping out of the woods, realizing you’re at the end of your trail and at the top of the mountain. I did it!  I met many fellow hikers and dogs alike, and checking out Buffalo Bill’s grave site. I don’t think there’s anything more gratifying than going through a long trek and looking at the view from the top. Enjoy some of the moments I captured!
