Hello!
So, I already posted all these on Facebook, but I had to show my blog community! This is one of the most beautiful hikes I have been on yet! I wish the hike would’ve been longer, but it was definitely worth it!
Hanging Lake trail is in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, about 2 hours away from Denver. The exit off of I-70 leads right to the parking lot, so if it’s packed, you are really SOL because there isn’t any road to park off of, you’d have to get BACK on I-70 and park a mile or more down, off a different exit.
So, if you plan to do this hike, DON’T go on a weekend. It’ll be packed and you’ll have to turn around! Or wait in a line of cars, waiting for people to leave their parking spots. We got super lucky with our parking.
Anyways, the hike is about an hour and a half up, if that. It’s not that long of a hike, but it’s steep pretty much the whole way up (alltrails.com gave it a level of Difficult because of this). You’re covered in the forest about 90% of the time, til the end, and you get to follow a stream & plenty of mini waterfalls on the way up. So, so, so beautiful.
Oh, and dogs are NOT allowed on this trail! Luckily, we looked ahead of time 🙂
Here are all the pics we took, I suggest anyone staying in Colorado to check out this hike because it is absolutely stunning, and it’s not too long of a trek.
Enjoy!
until next time,
